A Trusted Local Pro: The Clockworks – Repairs and Restorations in Richmond, VA
Updated: Oct 8
Curt Reichstetter of Two Dog Realty shares a firsthand recommendation from Richmond, Virginia: The Clockworks – Repairs and Restorations on Patterson Ave for clock and watch repair.
In Curt's Words
I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Jim Ahmed, who owns The Clockworks here in Richmond. Jim has been fixing clocks and watches for 40 years and has been featured in various Richmond publications, so it was a real pleasure to spend some time with him.

The reason for my visit: I'd inherited a Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock and had been carting it all over Richmond for decades. At the time, Heather and I were starting the process of downsizing, and getting rid of things was a top priority. This clock hadn't worked in a very long time — and is quite valuable when it does. We don't need more things taking up space, so I went to Jim to ask about fixing it or selling it.
He had five of the exact same clock, already working on them for other people, and wanted mine for parts. Some things we hold onto for sentimental value, but this one had no real meaning to me, so Jim made me a deal I couldn't refuse.
I'd suggest just stopping by to chat with Jim and letting him show you around his shop — you'll be amazed.
