Meet Currie: Our First Community Heroes Project Client
Meet Currie! Currie was our first client to take advantage of our Community Heroes Project. She's a nurse, which qualifies her as one of our community heroes.
We started the Community Heroes Project to help those in our community who put their lives on the line to help us all. It's a program that helps these heroes save thousands of dollars when buying or selling their homes.
Currie's Story
We met Currie and her husband, Eric, in September 2022, when they were interested in selling their home in the city to move out to their cabin on the river in Louisa. They had bought the cabin as a weekend retreat but found themselves enjoying their time out there more and more, so they decided to make it their full-time residence. After we met, they decided to wait a year and, in the meantime, take on some projects and upgrades to make their city house more marketable.
Sadly, almost a year after our first meeting, Currie called us with the tragic news that Eric had unexpectedly passed away. She had reluctantly decided to put the cabin up for sale.
It's not uncommon for us to become involved in our clients' lives. It just comes with the job. But, as you can imagine, this one was particularly heartbreaking. Eric passed far too early, and the dream of moving to the cabin was so close to being realized. We became very close to Currie, and she will forever be one of our favorite clients.
We were all thrilled that, in the end, the cabin was purchased by a young couple buying their first home, who were super excited to move out to the secluded cabin by the river.
