A Richmond Local Favorite: Garnett's Cafe in the Fan
Updated: Oct 8
Our business often takes us into the city, and after meeting our photographer for a video shoot at one of our listings, it was time for lunch. I'd always heard how great the food at Garnett's Cafe was, but I'd never actually been inside. With the cafe just around the corner, we decided to give it a try.

The Louisville Hot Brown
They have an extensive sandwich menu, but the Louisville Hot Brown really caught my eye: sliced turkey, cheddar and bacon served open-faced on Italian bread and topped with Mornay sauce. My oh my! That sounded like heaven on a plate.
Heather makes a fabulous Hot Brown, usually sometime after Thanksgiving with leftover turkey, but last year turkey wasn't in the cards, so no Hot Brown for me. I was thrilled to see it on the menu, and this sandwich did not disappoint.

Heather's Pick: The Teacher
Heather got The Teacher, roast beef and Gorgonzola grilled on Italian, and she said it was very good. The sandwiches are huge, so go hungry or take half to go (that's what we did). And be sure to get the housemade pickles as your side.
