I Did a Thing: Curt Gets Hearing Aids
I did a thing! I went out and got hearing aids.
Ever since I can remember, I have been around loud things. First it was cap guns, and smashing caps with rocks and bricks to make the biggest bang possible. That carried over to stops in South Carolina, where I begged my parents to buy Black Cats, Lady Fingers and pretty much anything that would explode.
When I was a little older, I started target practice and hunting, so lots of loud bangs, and we never wore hearing protection. In high school I developed an affinity for live music, and I was usually the guy at the front of the stage right next to the speakers. I have had the pleasure of seeing some really great musicians.

Why It Matters
Being in sales, I need to hear what my clients are saying. And hearing what my wife is saying without her having to repeat herself a dozen times is good for the relationship.
So I am embracing my age, biting the bullet and sporting shiny silver hearing aids behind both ears. Who among my friends can relate?
